"I’ve always been a writer at heart. For years, I’ve helped other authors—mainly in non-fiction—bring their books to life and realise their dream of being published. I felt my turn was long overdue.
Eliza Binks has been bubbling away in my imagination since 2019, but it was during the stillness of lockdown that her story truly took shape. I loved the idea of placing her in the time of the Black Plague and giving her a role in helping the future mother of a king survive; otherwise, the royal lineage that we know today would not exist. From that seed, Eliza’s adventures as a ghost investigator began to grow.
Born from my love of history, ghost stories, and the magic of Pontefract Castle. I wanted to create a brave, curious girl who could step into hidden worlds, solve mysteries, and make friends with the past. Writing Eliza’s adventures lets me share that spark of wonder with young readers – the same sense of discovery that first drew me in.”
